Petrofuture Netherlands

It took me a while to get to this one. Over the past year, I’ve been working on gallery installations, lectures, and the demands of the day job, with little time to spend on new Petrofuture maps.

I’m finally getting back to the Petrofuture. Here is one that’s asked about a lot–the Netherlands.

This shows 66m of sea level rise with a 1962 Shell Oil gas station map base.

The Petrofuture Series is a work of parody. I have added a depiction of 66m of sea level rise to the existing gas station road maps.

All sea level rise depicted in these maps is based on estimates by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
