The animated Petrofuture of central London – 66m sea level rise on a vintage Shell Oil map.

This map is different from the usual sea level rise maps I post. Because there is no land above 66m within the extent of the map, I’m using the height of buildings. Anything poking its head above water is a manmade structure taller than 66m above sea level.

Petrofuture maps are deliberately set on top of old gas station maps. They turn the propaganda of oil and gas corporations back on themselves.

The sea level rise depicted is based on estimates by the IPCC — if the entire cryosphere melted.
