Back in Seattle again…. I’m mashing up these old bits of gas station Americana with the sea level rise that fossil fuels will ultimately cause.

The Petrofuture Series is a time machine–the maps combine elements of the past and the future, set on a base of vintage gas station maps.
The 66m of sea level rise is the future. When all the world’s ice sheets have melted, this is what our world will look like–flooded coastal cities, valleys, and plains…all caused by the burning of fossil fuels.
All sea level rise depicted in these maps is based on estimates by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
