Here is the first completed city map for the Australia series…Brisbane.
It’s complete because it has all the place names! Check them out! My favorite in this map is Watery Tart. All the names have been vetted and approved by the Select Committee on Climate-Related Place Name Revisions (aka, a couple of Australians I know).
I may be posting some incomplete maps of other cities soon. They’re incomplete because I haven’t gotten to the place names yet…giving places their new names is fun, but it’s the most time-consuming part of making these maps.
I gotta say…along the coasts, Australia has some excellent elevation datasets. This map was generated with a 2m resolution DEM downloaded from the Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping ELVIS (Elevation Information System) dataset. Elvis is everywhere.
