It took me a while to get back to the cities of the East Coast of the United States. I’d made maps of New York City, Boston, and in Canada, Montreal. These were all several years ago.
In the past year or so, I’ve spent a lot of time looking backward. I’ve gone back and redesigned many of my old sea rise maps, adding better graphics, maybe changing a place name here or there. I wanted to make my old work the way I would make it now. With this map and the new DC map, I’m looking forward again. I enjoyed updating my old work, until I didn’t. It’s much more exciting to create new work, and map new places.
It took me a while to get into the swing of the Philadelphia map, but I eventually had a lot of fun with it. Philadelphia was the first place I researched and mapped as a young geography student at SFSU, so it seems something of a circle has been made.
